trouble accessing/printing downloaded activities

I inherited boardmaker pro v.6 and don't know much about using it. I would love to use some of the activities I see but when I go to open them up after downloading them to my desktop I I get "wrong file type" when I try to open them using my boardmaker program. Are there any helpful tutorials that would walk me step by step through access these activities using the software I have?
